Blair D. Mitchell, 76, of Renfrew died at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday at his home.

Born Nov. 25, 1928, in Brush Valley Township, Indiana County, he was the son of Charles and Elsie Gressley Mitchell.

He served in the Army during the Korean War and retired from T.W. Phillips Gas & Oil.

Mr. Mitchell enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are his wife, Ethel L. Vedder Mitchell, whom he married Aug. 19, 1951; a son, David B. Mitchell of Portersville; two grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. Four sisters, Leora Cramer and Mary Sesoch, both of Dilltown, Indiana County; Pearl Juart of Mineral Ridge, Ohio; and Dorothy Brendlinger of Brush Valley, also survive.

MITCHELL - Friends of Blair D. Mitchell, who died Wednesday, July 13, 2005, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St. Friends also will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Brush Valley Lutheran Chapel, 3021 Route 259 Highway, Brush Valley, where services will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Pascoe, pastor of Victory Church of Blairsville and spiritual counselor for Albert Gallatin Hospice, officiating.
