Andrew Krauchuk Jr.

Andrew Krauchuk Jr., 80, of 150 Alameda Road in Butler Township, formerly of Remil Drive, died at 3:45 a.m. Tuesday at Butler Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

Born in Lyndora, Feb. 14, 1925, he was the son of Andrew Sr. and Pauline Buchky Krauchuk.

He served in the Army during World War II and retired in 1977 from the labor department at Armco-Butler Works after 29 years.

Mr. Krauchuk was a former member of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church. He also belonged to the Sons of Italy.

Surviving are his wife, Esther Mary Mitchell Krauchuk; two daughters, Mrs. Anselmo (Patricia) Arruda of Pembrook, Mass., and Paula L. Krauchuk of Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Nellie Hrip of Sarasota, Fla., and Mrs. John (Margaret) Cammisa of Butler; two brothers, Alex Krauchuk of Lyndora and George Kurtis of Stuart, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A sister and four brothers preceded him in death.

KRAUCHUK - Friends of Andrew Krauchuk, who died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Michael Harvey, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church in America, officiating. Burial will be at Butler County Memorial Park, Butler Township.Information also is available at www.thompson-miller.com.
