TRACK AND FIELD

Kristy Woods (shot put) and Logan Renwick (triple jump) each captured first-place medals for the Butler Stealth Track Club at the USATF Region 2 Track and Field Championships last weekend in Allentown, Pa.

The top three in each event advanced to the Junior Olympic Championship July 28 to 31 in Indianapolis.

Renwick also placed second in the 100 hurdles and third in the high jump. Emily Woods placed second in the shot put and discus in her age division and Kristy Woods was also second in the discus.

The following are results from the six athletes that took part in Allentown:

Midget Boys (age 10-11)

Christopher Short-1,500 (5 minutes, 3.83 seconds, 6th place)

Youth Girls (13-14)

Jessie Monteleone-Triple jump (29 feet, ¼ inch, 4th)

Emily Woods-Shot put (35-1¼, 2nd); Discus (88-9, 2nd)

Youth Boys (13-14)

Logan Renwick-Triple jump (40-7, 1st); 100 hurdles (15.55, 2nd); high jump (5-3, 3rd)

Intermediate Girls (15-16)

Kristy Woods-Shot put (36-2½, 1st); Discus (103-10 ½, 2nd)

Young Men (17-18)

Mark Ferguson-400 hurdles (59.75, 9th)
