Robin Craig, daughter of James and Virginia Craig of Butler, has been accepted to the Ohio Northern University College of Pharmacy for the fall, 2005 term.A graduate of Slippery Rock High School, she was active in the National Honor Society, choir, SADD, FCA, soccer, track and basketball.---
<b>Tara Maxwell</b>, daughter of Melvin and Barbara Maxwell of Butler, was recently named a senior honor student with distinction at Butler High School.While at the school, she was active in the National Honor Society, peer mediation, the Spanish club, varsity cheerleading and varsity track and field.Maxwell was also named a WPIAL Scholar Athlete and received the Academic Achievement Award, the National Honors Society Award and the Butler Varsity Cheerleading Scholarship.She plans to attend Robert Morris University and major in engineering.---
<b>Michael Motily</b>, son of Mike Motily of Prospect and Pam Miller of Butler, was recently named a senior honor student with distinction at Butler High School.While at the school, he was a member of the junior varsity tennis team and received the JV Ritts Scholarship and the Alumni Scholarship.Motily plans to attend Penn State University and major in secondary education.---
The 2005 Rosanne and Jane Cavalero Scholarships were recently awarded to Butler High School graduates <b>Christopher Henry</b> and <b>Emily Chiappini</b>.Distributed through the Wellington C. Carl Fund of the Pittsburgh Foundation, the scholarships are presented in equal shares to male and female graduates from Butler High School with the highest grade point average pursuing post-secondary education.Henry, the son of Dr. Larry and Grace Henry of Butler, plans to attend Duke University and major in biomedical engineering.Chiappini, the daughter of Ernest and Patricia Chiappini of Butler, plans to attend Penn State University and major in physical therapy.---
<b>Lindsey Shaffer</b>, daughter of Jay and Lynn Shaffer of Butler Township, was recently inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta National Honor Society at Penn State University at Altoona.A 2004 graduate of Butler High School, she is a dean's list student and a member and vice president of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority.---
<b>Joshua Veith</b>, son of Michael and Teresa Veith of Butler, was one of 24 students inducted into the Mercyhurst College Honors Program for academic excellence and service.A biochemistry major at the college, he was also named to the dean's list each trimester.---
<b>Stephanie Fuchs</b>, daughter of Raimund and Cathy Fuchs of Butler, was recently inducted into the Delta Mu Delta honor society at LaRoche College.A marketing management and business administration major, she is a Presidential Honors Scholar and the president of the Pittsburgh Chapter American Marketing Association at the college.A dean's list student, she is a member of the Redhawks dance team and has been named to Who's Who Among American Women.---
<b>Evan Smith</b>, the son of Stephen and Shelby Smith of West Sunbury, has been accepted to Gannon University for the fall 2005 semester.A graduate and valedictorian of Moniteau High School, he plans to major in electrical engineering.Smith is the recipient of the Einstein Award for the Academic Sports League.---
The American Legion Auxiliary Post 683 has chosen <b>Hannah Limbaugh</b>, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Limbaugh of Cabot, for the Auxiliary's Keystone Girls State program, "Experience in Government," at Shippensburg University.A junior at Knoch High School, she is active in the National Honor Society, concert band, marching band, pep band and History club.Outside of school, Limbaugh is a member of the youth group at St. Luke's Lutheran Church.---
<b>Alice Sande</b> of Butler was part of a Duquesne University team of students that won first place and a $500 prize in the Marketing Plan Contest of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the American Marketing Association.The five-member team competed against 17 other teams from Western Pennsylvania.---
<b>Glenn Crytzer</b>, son of Glenn and Lynn Crytzer of Center Township, was among eight recipients of the Annual Broadcast Music Inc. Student Composers Awards.The awards were presented during a recent ceremony at Le Parker Meridien Hotel in New York City.The winners, chosen from over 500 entries, will receive scholarship grants toward music education.His winning composition, entitled "Nocturne Fantasy," was written while he was studying composition with Ladislav Kubik in Tallahassee, Fla.Crytzer, who holds a bachelor's degree in music from Florida State University, is currently a graduate student at the Cleveland Institute of Music.---
<b>Alexandra Harper</b> and <b>Ashley Harper</b>, daughters of Patrick and Beth Harper of Butler, each have earned Gold A awards at the Culver Academies.The awards are presented to students receiving a grade point average of 3.7 or better during a given semester.---
<b>Lauren Hopkins</b>, the daughter of Terry and Cathy Hopkins of Cranberry Township, will serve as a summer orientation adviser at Gannon University.Hopkins is a graduate of Seneca Valley High School.---
Three area students have been selected as the winners of the 2005 Butler County Creative Kids program, sponsored by the Sprint Yellow Pages.Winners are:<b>Tori Nasiadka</b>, a first-grader at Penn Christian Academy;<b>Erin Grigorovich</b>, a second-grader at Connoquenessing Elementary School; and <b>Adam Stock</b>, a third-grader at Meridian Elementary School.Their artwork will be published on the front page of the Yellow Pages section in the 2006 Butler Countywide directory.---
<b>Steven Lewis</b>, son of Peggy and Lloyd Lewis of Cranberry Township, and a student at Clarion University, has been chosen for a summer internship with KDKA Television Station in the sports and special programming department.A communications major, he is a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity and is community service chairperson for the Interfraternity Council.He is involved with the Clarion television station and is in the process of producing and directing his own video production for the Pennsylvania Campground Association.Lewis was on the dean's list for spring 2005.
