Kelsey Rice, daughter of Keith and Laurie Rice of Butler, has been accepted to Gannon University for the fall 2005 semester.A graduate of Butler High School, she plans to major in respiratory care.She is the recipient of the Elks Scholarship and an athletic scholarship for volleyball.

Tiffany Holben, daughter of Charles and Amy Holben of Cabot, has been accepted to Saint Vincent College for the fall 2005 semester.A graduate of Knoch High School, she plans to major in pharmacy.

Daniel Pierre, son of Joseph and Kathleen Pierre of Valencia, has been accepted to Saint Vincent College for the fall 2005 semester.A graduate of Mars High School, he plans to major in business finance.

Travis Donaldson, son of Ronald and Julia Donaldson of Butler, recently participated in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Region V student conference.A student at Gannon University, he is a graduate of Knoch High School.

Midshipman Adam Dawson of Butler, a senior at the Merchant Marine Academy, has been named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.A graduate of Knoch High School, he is majoring in marine engineering systems at the academy.

Jessica Sheakley, daughter of Baxter and Joyce Sheakley of Butler, recently received a $3,000 undergraduate scholarship through the Phi Eta Sigma National Freshman Honor Society.A graduate of Butler High School, she is a secondary education/mathematics major at Clarion University.

Elizabeth Ford, daughter of Ed and Karen Ford of Slippery Rock, has been selected to participate in the Carnegie Mellon Institute for Talented Elementary and Secondary Students.A student at Slippery Rock Elementary School, she will participate in the Explorations in Science Program.

Natalie Milas of Cranberry Township recently had a poem chosen for use in the anthology "A Celebration of Young Poets."Milas will enter the fourth grade at St. Alexis School this fall.BASF recently presented $1,000 scholarships to

Amanda Hart.Bryce is a recent graduate of Mars High School. He plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh.Hart is a recent graduate of Seneca Valley High School. She will also attend the University of Pittsburgh and plans to study chemistry.

Stephen Edwards of Saxonburg has been selected to attend the Pennsylvania Governor's School of Excellence for Information Technology.He recently completed his junior year at Knoch High School.

Ryan Coennen, son of Joe and Karen Coennen of Cranberry Township, recently received a silver medal at the regional championship for the Math 24 Challenge at Allegheny College.

Kelly Haley, daughter of Terry and Debbie Haley of Butler, was recently recognized as an outstanding music education major at Ohio University.A junior music education/flute major, she is also the recipient of the Dean's Upperclass Scholarship and the Gilbert A. Stephenson Music Education Memorial Scholarship.Haley is a 2002 graduate of Butler High School.

Jacob Scott, son of David and Cynthia Scott of Freeport, has accepted an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy.He is a graduate of Freeport High School where he was active in the National Honor Society; served as a homeroom officer; lettered in baseball, basketball, football and track and field; and was named to Who's Who Among American High School Students and Who's Who in Sports.
