Josephine Macefe
Josephine Macefe, 97, of 801 Center Ave. died Friday at Sunnyview Home following an illness.
Born in Shamut, on July 11, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Dominic and Consettina Gregory Vicari.
Mrs. Macefe was a homemaker. She formerly worked at the Spade shirt factory for 18 years and at Sunnyview Home as a nurse's aide for 10 years. She retired in 1975.
She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Ladies Guild of St. Michael.
She is survived by a son, Leonard Macafe Jr. of Butler; a daughter, Mrs. Angie Sasse of Butler; a brother, Joseph Vicari of Butler; two sisters, Mrs. Rose Macefe Sommariva, and Mrs. Mary Regis, both of Butler; eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, who died in 1981, and by three brothers.
<B>MACEFE</B> -Friends of Josephine Macefe, who died Friday, March 25, 2005, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. James Dolan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.The bereavement group of St. Michael the Archangel Parish will meet at 3 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home to conduct a scriptural wake service.
