Skalicky, Crooker

Beth Skalicky and David Crooker, both of Sterling, Va., exchanged wedding vows on Aug. 14 at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church in Sterling, Va. The Rev. Bill Schmidt officiated. A reception was held at the Marriott Tysons Corner in Vienna, Va.

The bride is the daughter of Emil and Dorothy Skalicky of Kennett Square, formerly of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Richard and Geraldine Crooker of Rochester, N.Y.

The honor attendant was Sara Skalicky Whiffen of Los Angeles. Bridesmaids were Emily Gillespie of Savage, Minn., and Kathryn Richdale of Dublin, Ohio.

Performing the duties of best man was Jeffrey Valentine of Fairport, N.Y. Ushers were Ahmet Kilic of Baltimore and Aaron Skalicky of Waldorf, Md.

The bride graduated in 1994 from Butler High School, in 1998 from the University of Notre Dame and in 2003 from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She works for the Highway Loss Data Institute in Arlington, Va.

The bridegroom graduated in 1994 from McQuaid Jesuit High School, in 1998 from Pennsylvania State University and in 2004 from Johns Hopkins University. He works for the United States government in Washington, D.C.

After honeymooning in Australia and New Zealand, the couple is living in Sterling, Va.
