Derya Akyurek and David Pferdehirt, both of Izmir, Turkey exchanged wedding vows at 2 p.m. July 17 at the Izmir Wedding House in Izmir. A reception was held at the Pemlee Krisk Restaurant.

The bride is the daughter of Yildiz Akyurek of Izmir and the late Erturk Akyruek. Parents of the bridegroom are Thomas and Sandra Pferdehirt of Evans City.

The bride graduated from Suleyman Demirel University.

The bridegroom graduated from Seneca Valley High School and Penn State University. He works for the Department of Defense, Surface Deployment Distribution Command.

The couple will live in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
