2 hurt in Route 38 crash
WASHINGTON TWP - Two men were seriously injured this morning in a two-vehicle crash on Route 38, authorities said.
Nathan Watterson, 20, and Howard Pisor, 35, both of Hilliards were flown by medical helicopters to Pittsburgh hospitals following the 5:15 a.m. crash.
State Police said Watterson was driving a car north on Route 38 near Parker Road and entered the southbound lane to pass another vehicle in front of him.
Watterson's car collided head-on with a southbound pickup driven by Pisor. The pickup rolled onto its side following the collision. Neither driver was wearing a seat belt, police said.
Watterson was flown to Allegheny General Hospital and Pisor was flown to Presbyterian Hospital. Their conditions were not known this morning.
The crash shut down a portion of the road, which was still closed after 8:30 a.m.
North Washington and Eau Claire volunteer firefighters and Petrolia Ambulance assisted state police.
