Churches stage Easter plays, music programs
Several Butler County churches will be celebrating Easter with a musical program or play.
They are:
"Mary Magdalene's Good News,"
7 p.m. Saturday in the sanctuary at Union Presbyterian Church, 409 Emlenton St., Clintonville.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served in the social room following the show.
"The Bread King,"
7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 315 Hollow Road, Cabot. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance.
The show involves a cast of more than 50 youths and adults.

"For He Alone is Worthy,"
at 7 p.m. Saturday at Hampton Presbyterian Church, East Hardies Road, Gibsonia; and at 7 p.m. Sunday at Center Presbyterian Church, Center Street, Slippery Rock.
The show will be presented by Adoring Christ Through Song and directed by Robert Olsavicky II and LaDonna Linamen.
"The Resurrection Musical,"
7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday and from April 8 to 10 at Calvary Temple Worship Center, Route 422 West, Sampson Street Extension, New Castle.
The show, featuring a cast and crew of more than 100, tells the story of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Cost is $7. Children younger than 4 will not be admitted.

"Passion Play and Worship Service,"
presented by the youth group of Slippery Rock Alliance Church at 7 p.m. April 9 at Slippery Rock Alliance Church, 530 Kiester Road, Slippery Rock.

"Why Must He Die?"
at 7 p.m. April 8 at Mars Alliance Church, Route 228 and Myoma Road, Mars.
The show, featuring 30 teens from Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties, is a meditation on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Admission is an offering.

"A.D., A Musical for Easter and Beyond,"
6 p.m. Sunday at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Extension, Sunday, April 4 at 6:00 PM,
Music will be provided by the North Main Sanctuary Choir & Orchestra.
There is no charge. Nursery care will be provided for infants to 3 years old.
"Jesus Shall Reign,"
11 a.m. Sunday at Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, Franklin and Maple streets, Slippery Rock.
The drama features soloists Terry Dambaugh, Fred Doerr, Julie Burris, Jon Rinehimer, and Tracy Hust.
"It All Happened in the City,"
9:30 a.m. Sunday at North Washington Presbyterian Church, 714 Fairview Road, North Washington. Presented by the North Washington Church School.
"Hosanna in the Highest,"
7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St.
The drama, set to contemporary music, celebrates Jesus' last days.
