Web site links Butler to Internet
Shazam! Butler has joined the 21st century with its first Web site: allaboutbutler.com.
Kelly Adamczyk, program coordinator for the city's Redevelopment Authority, showed off the site at Tuesday's city council meeting.
Adamczyk said the site has been a priority of hers since she joined the authority and found that the city did not have one.
She said the online site came about with the help of Azad Ali, an associate professor of E-Commerce at Butler County Community College, and his student, Bryan Lang, who designed the site.
Lang explained to Councilmen Charles Savannah and Mitch Ufner and Mayor Leonard Pintell the site is link driven, and has links to the user Web sites for city government, and for cultural, historical and other organizations.
The design work fulfilled a practicum requirement for Lang, who will soon graduate from BC3 and go on to additional computer studies.
Adamczyk said along with BC3's help, Dick Ross, Mark Swift and Laura Berberich of Armstrong Business are sponsoring the Web site at no cost to the city.
Pintell, Ufner and Savannah applauded the efforts of all those involved with the creation of the site.
"This is really great," Pintell said. "We really thank all of you."
