SV advances with 72-54 win at Lebo

Connor Lyczek scored 24 points and Seneca Valley put the game away with a big fourth quarter in knocking off Mt. Lebanon, 72-54, in the WPIAL Class 6A boys basketball playoffs Tuesday night.

The Raiders (11-10) won for the fifth time in six games.

The ninth-seeded Raiders outscored the host Blue Devils 18-9 in the second quarter to take a 10-point lead into halftime. After Mt. Lebanon (9-9) pulled within seven by the end of the third quarter, Seneca Valley enjoyed a 20-9 edge on the scoreboard in the fourth period.

Cole Brooks scored 18 points and Caiden Oros 13 for SV. Mike Pfeuffer led Mt. Lebanon with 15 points, sinking five treys.

The Blue Devils dropped three of their final four games.

SV plays at top-seeded Upper St. Clair Friday night.
