Residents recycle 13,000 pounds of hazardous waste
Butler Township residents recycled more than 13,000 pounds of household hazardous waste in the third quarter this year.
From July through September, 122 residents recycled 13,222 pounds of household hazardous waste through curbside collection that is included in the township’s garbage collection contract with Waste Management.
Included in the total amount is 8,909 pounds of televisions, 1,333 pounds of latex paint, 720 pounds of other electronics, 530 pounds of oil-based paint, 519 pounds of hazardous liquids and solids, and 349 pounds of computers.
