A number of Butler County teams will be involved in the WPIAL baseball and boys volleyball playoffs. The schedules, released Friday, are as follows.

Baseball

Class 6A: No. 5 Seneca Valley (10-8-1) will face No. 4 Hempfield (14-6) on May 20 at a site and time to be determined.

No. 8 Butler (6-12) will take on No. 1 Mt. Lebanon (16-4) on May 20 at a site and time to be determined.

Class 4A: No. 6 North Catholic (13-4) will play No. 11 Elizabeth Forward (11-7) at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Peterswood Park.

No. 14 Knoch (9-9) will face No. 3 West Mifflin (16-2) at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Plum High School.

Boys Volleyball

Class 3A: No. 3 Butler (10-6) earned a first-round bye and will be in action at 7 p.m. Thursday when it hosts the winner of Tuesday’s game between Penn-Trafford and Upper St. Clair.

No. 5 Seneca Valley (12-6) will host No. 12 Moon at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Class 2A: No. 1 Mars (17-0) earned a bye into the quarterfinals. The Planets will host a 7 p.m. game Thursday against the winner of Tuesday’s game between Gateway and Seton LaSalle.

No. 2 North Catholic (14-2) also received a bye. The Trojans will play at 7 p.m. Thursday at home against the winner of Tuesday’s game between Latrobe and Thomas Jefferson.
