3:25 p.m. Friday — Renee Kenyon, 55, of Butler was hurt in a two-vehicle wreck on Route 8 south at the Bredinville split. The crash happened when a car driven by Audra Fosbrink, 85, of Mars turned in front of the car that Kenyon was driving.

Kenyon was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with a minor injury. Her car had to be towed.

May 5 — Lindsey L. Stevenson, 32, of Renfrew was charged with driving under the influence stemming from a February speeding stop. Police said they pulled her over about 3 a.m. Feb. 23 for going 70 mph in a 50 mph zone.

Stevenson was eventually taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, and toxicology results showed she had benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, in her system, according to court documents. She also had a blood-alcohol level was 0.141 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

In addition to DUI, she is charged with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, and speeding.

6:35 p.m. Saturday — Jeffrey L. Ferguson, 60, of Mercer Township was arrested after he violated a protection from abuse order at a home on the 4600 block of Route 8 in Mercer Township

10:20 a.m. Saturday — Two people were hurt in a one-vehicle wreck in Summit Township. The crash happened when Chance M. Smith, 22, of Butler lost control of his car while eastbound on Portman Road, west of Bonniebrook Road. The car slid sideways before hitting a tree stump and flipping into its roof and into a stone water well.

Herman and East Butler volunteer firefighters had to extricate Smith from the car. His passenger, Gavin J. Kruki, 20, of Butler, was able to get out on his own. Smith was taken to Allegheny General Hospital with unknown injuries. Kruki had apparent minor injuries but he did not need hospital treatment. The car sustained severe damage and had to be towed.

2:46 a.m. Thursday — An Allegheny County woman was injured when the car she was driving struck a guardrail and overturned before catching fire on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Meredith E. Stewart, 20, of Carnegie was taken by ambulance to UPMC Mercy in Pittsburgh.

Police described Stewart’s injures as minor. Harmony Fire District and Harmony EMS assisted at the scene. Police cited Stewart for disregarding traffic lanes.

Thursday — An old tractor sickle valued at $50 was stolen from an abandoned barn during a burglary on Route 38 near Gavin Road in Venango Township. The break-in and theft happened between May 1 and 7. The investigation continues, according to a police report, which did not indicate if there are any suspects.

May 3 — A Mercer County man was arrested after he allegedly brandished a pistol during an altercation at The Heights at Slippery Rock on Woodbridge Drive in Slippery Rock Township.

Police said they were called to the apartment complex for a report of a man with a gun. Troopers got there and found Trevor L. Griswold, 24, of Greenville in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle, attempting to leave a party, according to court documents. Several friends apparently tried to stop him.

But Griswold allegedly punched one of the friends, a man, in the nose, causing an unspecified injury, according to court documents. He also struck another friend, a woman, in the face and shoved her to the ground. She suffered a bruise near her mouth and swollen elbow.

When still another friend stepped in to separate Griswold from the others, documents said, the defendant pulled a 9 mm pistol from his waistband and a magazine from a pocket. He is accused of placing the magazine into the gun and loading the firearm. He also allegedly threatened to fire the gun.

Griswold was arraigned on five counts of terroristic threats, six counts of simple assault, and one count each of driving under the influence and disorderly conduct. He is free on $10,000 bail.

7 a.m. May 1 — Zachary T. Mele, 23, was arrested on charges he pushed, yelled at and strangled a former girlfriend during an altercation at his home on Clearfield Road in Winfield Township. Police said the woman had a “large red mark around the front of her neck” from the alleged assault.

Mele was arraigned on a felony charge of strangulation and a misdemeanor charge of simple assault. Additionally, he is charged with summary counts of disorderly conduct and harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bond following arraignment.
