5:07 p.m. Thursday — Louis P. Laughner, 19, of Butler lost control of his car and struck a mailbox and gas line meter on Saxonburg Road just off Bricker Avenue in Summit Township. Laughner was not was not injured. He was wearing a seat belt.

Police cited him for driving too fast for conditions and disregarding traffic lanes.

4:55 a.m. Thursday — Savanna N. Watterson, 18, of Valencia was hurt when the car she was driving struck a tree and ended partially submerged in a pond. She suffered minor injuries, police said.

Watterson’s passenger, Tyler O. Lambing, 21, of Pittsburgh, was not injured. Both occupants were wearing seat belts. The car had to be towed. Police cited Watterson for driving too fast for conditions.

Feb. 12 — Shirley I. Spinneweber, 63, of Center Township was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana, and having marijuana, following a traffic stop last month in Summit Township. Police said they pulled her over about 8:05 p.m. Jan. 21 on East Butler Road near the East Butler line.

She admitted that she had marijuana in her sport utility vehicle, and she was later arrested for DUI. A search of the SUV, according to court documents, turned up two pill bottles containing suspected marijuana and a marijuana vape pen in her purse.

Police took Spinneweber to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test that showed she had marijuana in her system, documents said, and her blood-alcohol level was 0.09 percent. A level of 0.08 percent in considered intoxicated under state law.

She is charged with driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and drugs, DUI, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and failing to use turn signals.

Feb. 10 — Chad Finucan, 36, of Summit Township was charged with illegally using a Summit Township man’s debit card last month. Police said the defendant used the card on six occasions at automated teller machines between Jan. 3 and 9 and withdrew $1,042.50 from the victim’s bank account.

Finucan is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor count of theft by deception.

Feb. 10 — Police charged Kristen L. Rasely, 40, of Freeport in a shoplifting incident last year at the Clearview Mall in Center Township. She allegedly made off April 23 with merchandise totaling $145.98 from the Boscov’s store.

Rasely is charged with a misdemeanor count of retail theft.

Feb. 6 — Zane S. Perry, 29, of Penn Township was charged with drugged driving and having a marijuana vape pen in connection with a January traffic stop in Center Township. He was pulled over shortly after 5:40 p.m. Jan. 24 on Milheim Drive at Summit Road.

Police said Perry admitted he had the vape pen in his car’s center console, and he later was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which he refused, according to court documents.

He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, driving too fast for conditions, failing to keep right, making an improper turn, careless driving and failing to notify authorities of a change of address.

Feb. 6 — Tyler J. Barkman, 26, of Butler was charged with being more than two times the state’s legal limit for alcohol after a January speeding stop in Center Township. Police said he was clocked on a trooper’s hand-held radar device going 53 mph in a 35 mph zone about 11:30 p.m. Jan. 22 on Mercer Road near Blossom Drive.

Barkman eventually was taken for a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.192 percent.
