Succop Nature Park, 185 W. Airport Road, Penn Township, hosts Birds and More nature walks at 9 a.m. Thursdays. The newly renovated T.W. Phillips Barn features a WindStax turbine that supplies electricity to the building, a nature store, classroom space, a large upstairs area that can be used for programs or rentals, and numerous bathrooms. Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, Brady Township, plans A Sweet Stroll Through Maple History at 2 p.m. Sunday; the program is free and no registration is needed. An Owl Prowl and Woodcock Watch, hosted by the Bartramian Audubon Society, will begin at 7 p.m. March 28. Jennings is open regularly from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and on weekends as scheduled. Moraine State Park will be the site of a Winter Weeds Walk at 1 p.m. March 14 from the South Shore park office. The walk to the Sunken Garden Trail will be an easy 1.5-mile hike along Lake Arthur looking for dried grasses, seedpods, and other treats of nature. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots. Meet at the South Shore park office, 225 Pleasant Valley Road, Portersville.
