Art Center hosts monthly band night
After a successful band night in December, another is planned for Saturday at the Butler Art Center.
The Saturday Night Special event will feature four bands headlined by Trevolta along with Better Think Twice, Commissioner, and The Cryptids.
The band Trevolta, of Saxonburg, was formed in 2016 by Jesse Ort, lead guitarist and vocals; Austin Zarnick, bass and backup vocals; and Jason Brahler, percussion, who are all under age 18.
Most recently, the group has performed at The Hard Rock Café in Pittsburgh and the Butler Farm Show.
Their biggest project of the year was the professional recording of a three-song album, working with producer Matt Muckle and engineers from Hollywood Studios in Pittsburgh.
The trio draws inspiration from rock 'n' roll legends such as KISS, Queen, and YES as well as psychedelic rockers like Pink Floyd.
Better Think Twice from New Brighton will be playing a combination of both covers and original songs. The band has appeared at many area events with its classic/modern/alternative rock style.
Commissioner is a three-piece rock/alternative band from Pittsburgh consisting of bassist and lead vocalist Brandon Bionda, drummer Mitchell Evans, and guitarist Tristan Cumberledge.
The Cryptids are a funky jam band formed in Pittsburgh by members Ari Glasser on guitar and vocals; Kevin Kondracki, also on guitar and vocals; Addison Imbrie on bass; and Austin Crudele on drums.
Saturday Night Special will run from 6 to 10 p.m., with doors opening at 5 p.m. at the Art Center, 344 S. Main St. Admission is $3.
The intention is to have the band night at least on the last Saturday of each month. Feb. 29 and March 28 have been nailed down so far.
