Rocco hits milestone

Reaches 6,000 career passing yards in win

Zack Rocco surpassed 6,000 career passing yards as North Catholic pulled away from Deer Lakes in the second half for a 42-21 win Friday night.

The Trojans and Lancers were deadlocked at 14-14 at the break.

North Catholic (8-1, 8-0) completed an undefeated season in the Big East Conference and will await its playoff seeding.

The Trojans' lone loss this season was to Central Valley, which routed Aliquippa 45-6 Friday.

Aliquippa was 51-1 at home in the last 11 years before the loss to Central Valley.

Ridgway 50, Union/A-C Valley 12 — Luke Bowser threw for 162 yards — including a touchdown pass to Kylar Culbertson — but was intercepted four times in the Falcon Knights' loss.

Caden Rainey returned a punt 55 yards for Union/A-C Valley's other score. Rainey caught four passes for 61 yards.

Colton Hoffman led the Falcon Knights with nine tackles while Carter Terwint had eight.

Keystone 45, Moniteau 10 — Chaz McGuire had an interception return for a touchdown in this loss for the Warriors.

Moniteau (3-7) led 10-7, but Keystone scored 38 unanswered points for the win.

Ethan McDeavitt booted a 27-yard field goal for the Warriors to give them a three-point lead at the half.

But Keystone got things going after the break.

Nick Weaver rushed for 187 yards on 12 carries and scored three touchdowns and Isaak Jones threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns for the Panthers.

Mohawk 27, Summit Academy 16 — The Knights closed the season with this loss.

Hockey

Cole Mitchell and Nico DiSanti scored goals for Freeport, but the Yellowjackets dropped a 4-2 decision to South Park recently.
