KC soccer nets pair of shutouts

Karns City's boys and girls soccer teams posted shutout victories over Keystone Saturday.

The Gremlin boys cruised to an 11-0 win while the girls grabbed a 6-0 triumph.

Nate Rondinelli scored five goals for the KC boys. Dakota King added three while Gage Cowoski, Robby Rumbaugh and Brayden Christie added single tallies. Nate Boyden made three saves for his first shutout in goal.

McKenna Martin and Emma Dailey scored two goals each in the girls' victory. Brooke Stahlman and McKenna Lavella also scored. Ally Fennell had two assists.

Rossi McMeillen got the shutout in goal.

Cassidy Nolan had 10 kills to lead Karns City to a 3-0 victory over Moniteau. Game scores were 25-15, 25-23, 25-21.Emma Clark contributed seven kills, Mackenzie Dunn six kills, nine digs and three aces, Emily Huff four kills and 14 digs, Peyton Turner 19 assists and 11 digs, Rosalie Carden 10 assists and Ashley Fox three kills and three digs.Aslyn Pry had 15 attacks, three kills and five blocks for Moniteau. Samantha Broerman had 11 attacks, an ace and four blocks, Ivie Scott eight attacks and two kills, Logan Barnhart eight assists and one kill.

Mars won the 15-team MAC Invitational Friday. Emily Ivory was No. 2 singles champion, Emma Nelson and Julia McCarty No. 1 doubles champions, Alexandra Knotts and Riya Cherlakola No. 2 doubles champs for the Planets.Isabella Gaydosh and Lauren Miko placed second at No.’s 1 and 3 singles, respectively.
