A program on “The History of Butler’s Historic Movie Theaters” will be presented by Bill May at 6:30 p.m. June 20 at Alameda Park as part of the Family Outdoor Discovery Series. May will talk about the glory days of Butler’s historic theaters from opera houses to movie theaters including the Penn, Majestic, Lyric/Capitol, and the grand movie palace “The Butler.” May’s slide show includes rare photos, video clips and stories of famous live performers. The talk will also highlight famous Hollywood stars who claimed Butler as their hometown.
