8:05 p.m. Monday — Leo R. Mullen, 53, was arrested after he allegedly punched his wife in the face at least twice during a domestic dispute at their home on the 400 block of East Pearl Street.Police said the victim had a swollen left eye and she was bleeding from a cut on her left cheek.A search of Mullen turned up eight Suboxone strips in one of his coat pockets, according to court documents. He does not have a prescription for the drug, police said.He was arraigned on charges of simple assault and possession of a controlled substance, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $3,000 bail.

3:39 p.m. Saturday — Vehicles driven by Brian Rayburn, 49, and Margaret Krenitsky, 60, both of Butler collided at the Butler Commons shopping plaza, but no injures were reported. Rayburn's vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and had to be towed.12:25 a.m. Saturday — Taylor Birckbichler, 23, of Butler lost control of her vehicle apparently after falling asleep and struck a guardrail. She was not hurt, but her vehicle had to be towed.Feb. 27 — Melissa M. Kasarda, 28, of Valencia was charged with felony drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop earlier in the month on Morton Avenue. She also was allegedly more than twice the state's legal limit for alcohol.Police said Kasarda was pulled over around 9:20 p.m. Feb. 3 after running a stop sign at the intersection with McQuistion Road. The investigation determined that her blood-alcohol level was 0.164 percent, according to court documents. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.Because this was her fourth offense for driving under the influence, she is charged with felony DUI. She was arraigned on that charge as well as false identification to law enforcement authorities, driving without a license, driving an unregistered vehicle and a stop sign violation.Kasarda was released on $10,000 unsecured bail following arraignment.9:25 p.m. Feb. 19 — Carrie J. Cubbage, 32, was arrested for allegedly having a stolen dirt bike at her home on the 400 block of Bessemer Avenue in Lyndora.She was arraigned on a felony count of receiving stolen property and placed in the Butler County Prison on $2,500 bail.

12:30 p.m. Feb. 12 — Ronna S. Gralitzer, 53, of Harrisville was arrested for felony shoplifting after she allegedly tried to leave a Giant Eagle store with numerous boxes of Valentine's candy and other food items for which she had not paid.Because Gralitzer has two prior shoplifting convictions, she was arraigned on a felony count of retail theft. She was released on $2,500 unsecured bail.

6:53 p.m. Sunday — Three people were hurt in a one-vehicle crash in Center Township. Details about the wreck on South Benbrook Road were not immediately available.The driver, Megan P. Ritchie, 21, of York, Pa., and two unidentified passengers were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Police cited Ritchie for driving at an unsafe speed.10:36 p.m. Saturday — Breanna M. Robinson, 24, of Butler lost control of her car and struck a tree along Route 356 just north of Great Belt Road in Jefferson Township. She and her passenger, Ryan J. Hart, 32, of Butler, were taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with apparent unknown injuries.Police said both occupants were wearing seat belts. Robinson was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.9:05 p.m. Saturday — A vehicle driven by Cory J. Tetzlaw, 24, of Gibsonia turned into the path of another vehicle, causing a collision at Route 8 just south of the Clearview Mall in Center Township. Joseph J. Heinzman, 39, of Slippery Rock was the driver.No one was injured, but Heinzman's vehicle had to be towed. Tetzlaw was cited for making an improper left turn.10:34 p.m. Friday — An Allegheny County woman was hurt when she crashed her sport utility vehicle into a ditch on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Susan T. Bagnato, 20, of Sewickley was taken to Grove City Medical Center with an apparent minor injury.Police said Bagnato was wearing a seat belt. She was cited for disregarding traffic lanes.7:31 p.m. Friday — A pickup truck driven by Thomas G. Kennedy, 64, of Slippery Rock collided with another vehicle at Route 8 and South Duffy Road in Brady Township. Cassidy L. Byers, 18, of Slippery Rock was the other driver.No injuries were reported, but both vehicles had to be towed.5:39 a.m. Friday — Jenny L. Paserba, 36, of Butler lost control of her car and rolled over on snow-covered Thornbrook Road just south of Renfrew Road in Penn Township. The car landed on its wheels. Paserba was wearing a seat belt and she was not hurt.12:47 p.m. Feb. 20 — A car driven by John D. Rearick, 51, of Worthington, Armstrong County collided with a tractor-trailer at Route 422 and North Clearfield Road in Clearfield Township. He was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township with an apparent unknown injury.Police said Rearick and the other driver, William H. Ford III, 52, of Youngstown, Ohio, who was not injured, were both wearing seat belts.Police cited Rearick for driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered vehicle, driving a vehicle without insurance and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.8:28 p.m. Feb. 18 — A car driven by Ryan J. Ayers, 23, of Natrona Heights, Allegheny County, fishtailed before hitting a utility pole along Route 228 near Victory Road in Clinton Township.Ayers was wearing a seat belt and he was not hurt. Police cited him for driving at an unsafe speed.4:09 p.m. Feb. 17 — A woman and her passenger were uninjured when she crashed into the gate of a weigh station on Interstate 79, thinking it was the Cranberry Township exit.Courtney L. Harmon, 25, of Hamburg, N.Y., told police she tried to hit the brakes upon realizing she was exiting at the weigh station, but slid into the gate in Cranberry Township.When she attempted to get back onto the southbound section of the interstate by traveling through the ditch on the edge of the highway, according to a police report, she again lost control and traveled about a half-mile before coming to rest on the right-hand shoulder.Neither Harmon nor her passenger, Derek J. Campbell, 29, also of Hamburg, were injured in the crash. Police cited Harmon for disregarding traffic lanes.7:43 a.m. Feb. 19 — A Butler woman was charged with following too closely after a chain-reaction crash on Route 68 in Forward Township. Kay M. Kovalchick, 47, told police she looked down only for a moment while driving her car east on Route 68 and had the sun in her eyes when she looked up.Kovalchick hit the rear of a car driven by Caryl K. Evans, 24, of Cranberry Township, which was slowing for a sport utility vehicle that was stopped on the highway waiting to make a left turn. Michael M. Mattis, 38, of Oakdale, Allegheny County was driving the SUV.The impact of Kovalchick's car pushed Evans' car into the SUV. All three vehicles were damaged, but no one was injured in the crash.Police cited Kovalchick for driving too closely to another vehicle.

4:44 p.m. Feb. 21 — A car driven by Elaine M. Kuhns, 63, of Slippery Rock was rear-ended by a pickup truck at West Main Street and George Junior Road in Pine Township. No one was injured.The pickup driver, Samantha R. Simon, 33, of Grove City fled the scene after Kuhns pulled over to exchange information, according to a police report. Kuhns followed the truck long enough to get the license plate number.Police later found Simon at her home. She was cited for failing to stop and render aid or give information after an accident and following too closely to another vehicle.
