KC boys soccer gets league title

Eight players combined to score 13 goals Saturday as the Karns City boys soccer team defeated Clarion-Limestone, 13-1.

The win enabled KC to claim its 15th consecutive Upper Allegheny Valley Soccer League Southern title, its eighth straight without a loss.

Goal scorers were Dom Hauser, Matt Griffiths, Robbie Rumbaugh, Kaden Scherer, Nate Rondinelli, Ryan Truax, Austin Fahlor and Dakota King.

Butler 4, Knoch 1 — Tate Mohney and Emery Douthett scored two goals each for the Golden Tornado.

Mohney added an assist. Landon Mohney, his brother, had two assists.

Girls Soccer

Amanda Lewis and Kayla Daugherty scored three goals each as Slippery Rock overwhelmed Sharpsville, 16-0.

Sam Harriet, Tory Hinchberger and Isabelle Willison added two goals each for the Lady Rockets. Scoring single tallies were Emily Sarver, Ellie Reiser, Hannah Burtner and Hillary Burtner.

Getting assists were Daugherty, Reiser, Hannah Burtner, Tory Hinchberger and Emily Raine. Julia Harty had two saves for the shutout in goal.

The Slippery Rock boys and girls soccer teams will have Senior Night Wednesday. The girls play Mercer at 6 p.m., the boys game follows.

Knoch 2, Highlands 0 — Lindsie Galbreath scored both goals for the Knights, giving her 81 in her career. Assists went to Melanie McCalip and Shiann Thomas.

Jewel Robertson made three saves to get the shutout. Knoch plays Monday at Indiana.
