Tate Mohney scored three goals Saturday night as the Butler boys soccer team shut out Freeport, 5-0.

Adam Blose had a goal and two assists for theGolden Tornado (8-3-1, 7-3), who won for the fourth time in five games. Evan Lubinsky added a single tally.

Landon Mohney, Ethan Depew and Micah Fabrizzi all had assists for Butler.

The Tornado travel to Fox Chapel Tuesday night. Freeport (7-8, 5-5) plays Tuesday at Burrell.

Girls Soccer

Kayla Daugherty scored five goals and added an assist Saturday as Slippery Rock cruised to a 16-0 win over Grove City. This was a region game continued from Tuesday.

Emily Raine scored three goals for the Rockets.(11-1, 6-0). Isabelle Willison scored two goals and added an assist and Amanda Lewis netted a pair of goals.

Ellie Reiser had a goal and two assists, Kira Bellis, Mackenzie Callahan and Hannah Burtner a goal each. Julia Hart had three saves in getting the shutout.

Slippery Rock hosts Greenville at 6 p.m. Monday.

Freeport 6, Valley 0 — Emma Check scored two goals while Sidney Shemanski tallied a goal and three assists for the Yellowjackets (7-5-1, 6-3).

Carlie Giori, Kaylin Greiser and Kaitlyn Ritter scored goals for Freeport. Maddie Zarichnak made two saves for the shutout.

Freeport plays Monday at East Allegherny.

Hockey

Shane Wissinger netted three goals as the Butler junior varsity (2-1) defeated Greater Latrobe, 7-4. Jacob Longdon added a goal and two assists.

Aiden Wagner netted a goal and assist, Timothy Diamond II and Kyle Grasha a goal each for the Golden Tornado. Joshua Deal had two assists.

Winning goaltender Hayden Wheeler made 15 saves.
