Adventure sets sail at Red Barn Theatre

The Red Barn Players are set to take audiences on a rollicking tale of adventure in the upcoming production of “Shipwrecked!” which has the complete title of “Shipwrecked! An Entertainment. The Amazing Adventures of Louis de Rougemont (as told by himself).”

The show, written by Donald Margulies, is being directed by Eric J. McAnallen of Ellwood City.

Performances are set for 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Aug. 16-18 and 23-25.

In this adventurous tale based on a true story, Louis de Rougemont invites you to hear his amazing story of bravery, survival and celebrity that left 19-century England spellbound.

Audiences are whisked away in a story of high seas, giant sea turtles and a man-eating octopus.

“Shipwrecked!” examines how far we're willing to blur the lines between fact and fiction in order to leave our mark on the world.

The cast of “Shipwrecked!” features Jeff Carey of Butler as Louis de Rougemont and four actresses who play multiple roles throughout the show: Alison Carey of Butler, Danielle Jacobson of Portersville, and Mary Cameron and Beth Wilson, both of Zelienople.

Tickets are $13 and reservations are available by calling 724-431-1707.

Shows take place at the Red Barn Theatre, 1279 Route 288, Franklin Township, Beaver County.

The final show of Red Barn's summer season will be “Drinking Habits,” a comedy, Sept. 14-15, 20-22 and 27-29.
