3 p.m. Wednesday — James R. Fulmer Sr., 64, was arrested after police say he put his hands around the waist of a woman in the stairwell near his apartment on the 400 block of West North Street and made sexually explicit comments to her.

Fulmer is accused of pulling the woman toward him, according to court documents, and telling her she was “sexy” and that he “wanted to kidnap her” and get inside her pants.

The victim said she got away from the defendant and went to the police station to report what happened.

Fulmer was arraigned on a misdemeanor charge of indecent assault and a summary charge of harassment. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.

9:33 p.m. Sunday — James J. Tiani, 59, of Butler allegedly exposed himself and made sexual remarks to a woman on the 300 block of East Brady Street.

Tiani was repeatedly told to stop, according to court documents, but he “continued his lewd behavior.”

He is charged with indecent exposure, disorderly conduct and harassment.

Sunday — Police identified the two women injured last week in a rollover vehicle accident at Shore and Chestnut streets.

The driver, Hazel Rivera, 54, of Lyndora, and her passenger, Claudia Montgomery, 22, of Butler Township, were both treated at Butler Memorial Hospital for apparent minor injuries in the July 3 wreck.

According to a police report, Rivera suffered a medical condition and lost control of the car shortly before 4 p.m. on the 200 block of Shore Street.

Police said the vehicle struck a building, crossed South Chestnut Street and hit an island of grass with a tree on it. The car struck the tree and rolled onto its roof.

Butler firefighters had to cut off the car’s doors to free Rivera from the wreckage. She and Montgomery were both taken by Butler Ambulance Service to the hospital.

1:33 p.m. July 6 — Nicholas A. Martinkovich, 25, of Concord Township allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend during a domestic dispute at her home on Kaufman Drive.

The victim recounted that Martinkovich grabbed her around the face, according to court documents, and pulled her to the ground by the hair. The woman also told police that she is three months pregnant.

The defendant is charged with simple assault.

Tuesday — Malone Birckbichler, 24, and Megan Metz, 26, both of Butler, were charged with shoplifting $216.32 in merchandise at the Butler Commons’ Walmart.

Birckbichler and Metz are both charged with retail theft and conspiracy.

12:14 p.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by Joseph Signorelli Jr., 26, of Chicora rear-ended another vehicle on Route 8 at Route 68. Michele Shaeffer, 55, of Butler was the other driver.

Police cited Signorelli for following too closely to another vehicle, driving with a suspended license and driving without a license.

2 p.m. Friday — Brittany R. Hay, 19, of Butler was arrested after police say she forced her way into a home on the 200 block of Rural Drive and assaulted another person. The alleged victim suffered apparent minor injuries in the domestic-related altercation.

Police said they later found Hay with suspected marijuana in a duffel bag. She was arraigned on charges of simple assault, defiant trespass, possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and harassment.

She was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.

[naviga:h3]Cranberry Twp Police[/naviga:h3]

3:55 p.m. Tuesday — A Clearfield County woman was arrested for allegedly giving police a bogus name after they got a call for two people passed out in a vehicle at the Cranberry Square Mall.

The defendant, Joyce L. Yearwood, 25, of Dubois, was found in the vehicle’s front passenger seat. She identified herself by a different name and claimed she had no identification on her, according to court documents.

But police said that a check of her purse turned up a state ID card that showed her real name. Police also found a travel bag that belonged to her. That bag, documents said, contained several used hypodermic needles.

District Judge Lewis Stoughton arraigned Yearwood on charges of false identification to law enforcement authorities and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail following arraignment.

[naviga:h3]Jackson Twp Police[/naviga:h3]

12:07 p.m. Monday — Arthur E. Jackson, 81, was arrested after a suspected domestic dispute at his Walnut Lane home left his 29-year-old son in need of medical treatment.

Jackson was placed in the Butler County Prison overnight and arraigned Tuesday on charges of simple assault and harassment. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.

Police said they spoke to the victim Monday afternoon at UPMC Passavant in Cranberry Township, where he was being treated for cuts to the head that he suffered in the incident.

Officers later found Jackson at his home. Police said the father and son live next to one another in different mobile homes on the same property. The defendant admitted fighting with the victim; however, he said his son cut his head after accidentally hitting a piece of furniture during the altercation.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]

8:45 a.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Robert H. Grubbs, 61, of Allison Park, Allegheny County struck a deer on Interstate 79 south of Sawyer Road in Lancaster Township. No one was hurt but the vehicle had to be towed.

10:37 p.m. Tuesday — A Westmoreland County teenager was hurt when she crashed her car in Muddy Creek Township. Police said Sarah S. Deriso, 19, of Murrysville was using her cell phone when she wrecked on Interstate 79.

The teen, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Grove City Medical Center with apparent minor injuries.

Deriso was traveling north and looking at her phone screen, according to a police report, when she lost control of her car. The vehicle went off the road and when she overcorrected, the car rolled over and landed on its roof.

The Portersville Volunteer Fire Department and Portersville EMS assisted at the scene.

Police said the teen faces a ticket for disregarding traffic lanes.

July 2 — Michael E. Webb, 49, of Clay Township was charged with drugged driving stemming from a one-vehicle crash earlier this year in Center Township. Police said his pickup truck April 7 struck a utility pole and mailboxes along Unionville Road.

Webb failed field sobriety testing and was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology reports later showed he had cocaine in his system, court documents said.

Additionally, police said, he was found with a crack pipe and other drug contraband.

Webb is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

July 2 — John D. Clark, 51, of Center Township was charged with taking a 35-year-old woman’s sport utility vehicle without her permission in May. The 2006 Buick Rainier was taken May 13 from the home that the victim and defendant share.

Clark is charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.
