Warrior softball extends season
Moniteau plated six runs over the first two innings and was never seriously threatened as the Warriors eliminated host Curwensville, 7-3, in a District 9 Class 2A first-round softball playoff Monday afternoon.
Dolcey Shunk doubled twice and scored three times and Amanda Dailey singled, doubled, scored a run and drove in two for the Warriors (8-11).
Freshman Courtney Stewart earned the win after 4.1 innings of work in the circle.
Moniteau will travel to top-seeded Cranberry for a semifinal showdown on Wednesday.

Mount Pleasant 10, Knoch 0 — The undefeated defending state champions scored five runs in the first inning and cruised to a five-inning win in WPIAL Class 4A playoff action.
Amanda Fischer and Chalee Durand had singles for Knoch, which ended the season at 13-6. Tim Knappenberger coached his final game with the Knights, as he is retiring.
