Mars earns track sweep

Mars' Chris Check runs to a win in the 100-meter dash for the Planets in a 103-47 triumph over Knoch Thursday afternoon. Check also finished first in the 200 and anchored the winning 1,600 relay for Mars.
Planets run to boys, girls wins over Knoch

Chris Check and Zachary Leachman ran to multiple event wins as the Mars boys track and field team cruised to a 103-47 win over Knoch on a chilly, but sunny, Thursday afternoon at Knoch.

Check won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.29 seconds and also captured the 200 with a time of 23.79.

Check anchored a leg of the Planets' winning 1,600-meter relay as well.

Leachman won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4 minutes, 49.05 seconds. He also claimed first in the 3,200-meter run at 10 minutes, 58.97 seconds.

Leachman ran the anchor leg of the Mars' winning 3,200-meter relay.

On the girls side, Gracie Dunaway finished first in both the 100 and 200 to lead the Planets to an 86-63 victory over the Knights.

Knoch got multiple wins by Abby Kopac (shot put and discus and Hannah Rowe (high jump and long jump).

Knoch hurdler Kaylynn Brumbaugh races to a victory in the 300-meter hurdles. The Knights' girls fell to Mars, 86-63.
