5:36 a.m. Saturday — David R. Camp Jr., 28, allegedly assaulted a woman during a domestic dispute at his home on the 200 block of Third Street.

The alleged victim told police that Camp hit her in the face and bit her finger, according to court documents. The woman, police noted, had redness above her left eye and she was bleeding from one of her fingers.

She said Camp fled the home when she called 911. Police checked the area but could not find him. He is charged with simple assault and harassment.

3:31 a.m. Friday — Kenneth Young Jr., 49, was arrested on charges he allegedly assaulted a woman during an argument at their apartment on the 200 block of East Brady Street.

Police accused Young of kicking the woman in the chest, according to court documents. The alleged victim had a small red mark on her chest.

Young was arraigned on a charge of simple assault. He was placed in Butler County Prison on $2,000 bail following arraignment.

Wednesday — Richard T. Glenn Jr., 62, of Butler was charged with stealing $10 last month at the Burger Hut restaurant on North Main Street.

Police said surveillance captured Glenn about 4:10 p.m. Feb. 16 taking the money that was on the counter.

A still photo from the video was posted on the police Facebook page, according to court documents. The posting prompted an anonymous call March 4 that identified Glenn. He is charged with theft.

Friday — Thomas P. Romspert, 26, of Butler was charged in connection with a shoplifting incident last month at the Walmart at Butler Commons.

Officers were called about 4:15 p.m. Feb. 1 for a report of a suspected shoplifter who had fled the store, according to a police report. The defendant is accused taking $221.14 in merchandise.

Police later found Romspert at a nearby hotel and officers caught him after a short foot chase. He was searched and found with drug contraband.

He is charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The report noted that Romspert has been banned from all Walmart and Sam’s Club stores in wake of the incident.

Friday — Police charged a man and woman stemming from an alleged fraudulent return scheme last month at the Butler Commons’ Walmart.

The defendants — Steven S. Defelice Jr., 32, and Jessica H. Hilliard, 32, both of Butler — are accused of obtaining a refund Feb. 28 for merchandise that they took from the store but did not pay for, a police report said.

Both are charged with theft by deception and conspiracy. Additionally, Defelice, who was previously banned from the store, is charged with defiant trespass.

Wednesday — Richard M. Waters, 66, of Butler was charged with having marijuana and other contraband following a traffic stop last week at McQuistion Road and Hillvue Drive.

Police said they stopped Waters after he ran a stop sign at the intersection. Officers subsequently found him with suspected marijuana.

He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and the stop sign violation.

3:23 a.m. March 10 — Misty A. Hamersley, 34, of Butler was caught with prescription medication and suspected drug contraband during an incident at the Butler Commons’ Walmart. She is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and public drunkenness.

Wednesday — Eric W. Little, 32, of Grove City was charged with being more than three times the state’s legal limit for alcohol stemming from a one-vehicle wreck last month in Slippery Rock Township. Police said Little wrecked March 20, on Route 108 east of Harmony Road.

According to court documents, Little admitted that he had been drinking vodka. Police said they noticed an open bottle of vodka inside the vehicle.

The defendant was taken to Grove City Medical Center for a blood test, which subsequently showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.263 percent. In Pennsylvania, a level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated.

Little is charged with driving under the influence, careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes, driving with an open container of alcohol and not wearing a seat belt.

Wednesday — Thomas R. Huff IV, 33, of Butler was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs stemming from a one-vehicle crash last month in Franklin Township.

Police said Huff was traveling west on Old Route 422 about 9:40 p.m. Feb. 11 when he lost control of his Chevrolet Tracker and hit an embankment. The vehicle became airborne and struck the front porch of a home, overturning several times and ending in the home’s yard.

Huff was taken by Butler Ambulance Service to Butler Memorial Hospital for suspected serious injuries. Before being taken to the hospital, according to court documents, he admitted he had been drinking before the wreck.

A blood draw at the hospital was subsequently tested with toxicology reports showing Huff’s blood-alcohol level was 0.176 percent. He also had marijuana and morphine-free, the product of heroin and codeine metabolism, in his system

Huff is charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance, careless driving, failing to keep right, driving at an unsafe speed and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.

Wednesday — A South Carolina man was charged with drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Butler. Police said they stopped Thomas L. Rockenstein Jr., 44, of North Charleston about 11:50 p.m. March 8 for a pair of traffic violations at North Monroe and East Jefferson streets.

Rockenstein admitted that he was coming from a nearby bar and had four or five beers, according to court documents. He failed field sobriety testing and was taken for a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.128 percent.

In addition to DUI, he is charged with driving an unregistered vehicle, driving without insurance, driving on the wrong side of the road and careless driving.

Wednesday — Two Allegheny County teenagers were charged with having marijuana stemming from a traffic stop last month at an apartment parking lot off North Road in Slippery Rock Township.

Police said that following the stop Feb. 11, Demetrius A. Cotton, 19, of Pittsburgh turned over a bag of suspected marijuana. A search of the car turned up another bag of suspected marijuana and a marijuana grinder, according to court documents, which Domani E. Jackson, 18, of McKeesport claimed were his.

The teens were passengers in the car and both are charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana. Jackson also is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
