March 1 — A toxicology report showed that a Parker Township woman had several drugs in her system last month when police found her passed out in a car parked under the South Main Street bridge.

An officer on patrol noticed the vehicle about 12:10 a.m. Feb. 15 and when he got there he saw Jolena E. Bowser, 39, in the driver seat with the key in the ignition. She eventually regained consciousness.

When she got out of the car, according to court documents, the officer spotted a drug-smoking pipe on the driver’s seat. She was searched and found with two stamp bags of suspected heroin and a Suboxone strip.

Bowser was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology results showed she had methamphetamine, cocaine, the prescription medication alprazolam and the opioid addiction treatment drug buprenorphine in her system.

She is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

2:17 p.m. Thursday — Cynthia Zonts, 54, of Saxonburg was hurt when a car rear-ended her sport utility vehicle on Route 356 at Point Plaza. Peter R. Yuhanjak, 86, of Butler was the other driver.

Zonts suffered an unknown injury. Police cited Yuhanjak for driving too fast for conditions.

12:29 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Sally Love, 84, of Butler struck another car at Route 8 and Vogel Road. Jeremy Gordon, 31, of Johnsonburg, Elk County was the other driver. No one was injured but both vehicles had to be towed.

12:04 a.m. Thursday — Police issued 10 traffic tickets to a Clarion County man following a one-vehicle hit-and-run wreck in Fairview Township.

The crash happened when Roy A. Beham, 29, of East Brady lost control of his pickup truck and struck a utility pole along Fairmont Road just north of Beck Drive before it returned to the road.

Police said they later found the pickup parked on a dirt road off Route 68 about three miles from the crash. The truck had disabling damage and had to be towed.

Beham was cited for driving too fast for conditions, hit-and-run, failing to stop and give information after an accident, failing to immediately notify police of an accident, abandoning a vehicle on a road, driving with faulty tires, driving on the wrong side of the road, careless driving, disregarding traffic lanes and driving with an open container of alcohol.

11:09 p.m. Wednesday — A sport utility driven by Gary R. Koval, 36, of Saxonburg slid on snow-covered Route 68 at Route 38 in Summit Township, and struck a pickup. Kristan E. Semmler, 40, of Butler was the other driver.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage but no one was hurt. Police cited Koval for driving too fast for conditions.

5:55 a.m. Wednesday — Jordan A. John, 25, of Chicora lost control of her car and slid across snow-covered West Slippery Rock Road at South Main Street in Chicora, hitting a stop sign. She was not hurt and her car sustained minor damage.

Police cited John for driving too fast for conditions.
