MIDLAND, Beaver County — Four students from Butler County will appear in “The Great Gatsby” opening Friday at the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center.

F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel will be staged by a cast of 22 including these Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School students from Butler County: Alexis Walker, Tessa DeJeet, Emily Appel and Zane Gagliardi.

The part of Jay Gatsby is being portrayed by Aaron Ventresca, a 10th-grader who attends Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic High School in Cranberry Township.

In the play, Midwest native Nick Carraway arrives in 1922 New York in search of the American dream. Nick, a would-be writer, moves in next-door to millionaire Jay Gatsby and across the bay from his cousin Daisy Buchanan and her philandering husband, Tom.

Carraway becomes drawn into the captivating world of the wealthy and bears witness to their illusions and deceits.

Nine performances will be presented through March 4 on the Main Stage Theater.
