Tori Michalski scored the game's lone goal as Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic's girls soccer team extended its season with a 1-0 win over Seton-La Salle Wednesday night at Peters Township Stadium.

The victory earns for the Trojanettes third place in WPIAL Class A and the state playoff berth that comes with it.

Andrea Bean stopped 10 shots in net for CWNC (16-5).

Girls Volleyball

Karns City was swept by Redbank Valley in a District 9 Class AA semifinal in New Bethlehem.

The Gremlins fell to the Bulldogs by scores of 25-21, 25-20 and 25-22.

Alyssa Stitt totaled 20 assists and Emily Hegedus seven kills for KC.

Emma Clark and Makayla Waltman had four kills.
