12:58 a.m. Sunday — Mary Kohlenburg-Miller, 45, of Butler was arrested for drunken driving after her minivan struck a sport utility vehicle parked on the 400 block of Eau Claire Street.

A witness saw the wreck, police said, and advised authorities that the driver had gone into a nearby home. Officers went to the home and found Kohlenburg-Miller “laying on the stairs sobbing,” according to court documents.

She subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was taken to the station for a breath test, which showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.11 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

Kohlenburg-Miller is charged with driving under the influence.

Sunday — Richard W. Jay, 38, who has no known address, was arrested on charges that he threatened to kill his mother during a weekend domestic dispute at her home on Miller Avenue.

The victim, Carol Spatz, told police that the defendant about 9:15 a.m. Saturday shoved her and “came at her with a closed fist but did not strike her,” according to court documents. He also allegedly told his mother he “was going to kill” her before fleeing the house.

Police about 9:30 a.m. Sunday found Jay waking on West Brady Street, where he was arrested. A search turned up a marijuana pipe inside one of his boots, documents said.

He was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats, harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia, and released on his own recognizance.

Tuesday — David R. Pisor, 28, of Boyers was charged with having marijuana stemming from a May 12 traffic stop on Mercer Road. Pisor was a passenger in the vehicle that was stopped for speeding about 7 a.m. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Tuesday — Police charged Annmarie Bedner, 48, of Butler with having a crack pipe Sept. 5 on McCalmont Road at the railroad tracks. She is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

9:20 p.m. Saturday — Lois A. Daniels, 26, of Renfrew was found with suspected narcotics and drug contraband at a home on Bessemer Avenue where police were called to investigate an altercation.

Daniels is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and harassment.

[naviga:h3]Saxonburg Police[/naviga:h3]

Oct. 4 — Eric B. Berger, 38, of Winfield Township was arrested on charges of felony and misdemeanor assault in connection with a domestic dispute last month at a home on the 200 block of West Main Street.

Berger is accused of getting into an altercation with the alleged victim, Melody Pulling, at her home about 12:30 a.m. Sept. 30. He demanded Pulling make him something to eat and then made a derogatory comment about her cooking, court documents said.

The victim, police said, recounted that the defendant hit and choked. He later handed Pulling a knife and told her to “cut and stab” him, according to a police affidavit. But Berger again directed his violence at the victim.

Pulling managed to get her cell phone and call 911. The defendant ran out the back door. Police said Pulling suffered a “badly bruised” neck, throat and left ear.

Berger was arraigned Oct. 4 on charges of aggravated assault and simple assault. Court records showed he is free on his own recognizance.

[naviga:h3]Slippery Rock University Police[/naviga:h3]

Oct. 3 — Nathan C. Kouns, 19, of Cranberry Township was charged with drunken driving stemming from an unusual traffic stop last month. Police said they stopped him Sept. 16 after they saw his Jeep travel onto the track at the Morrow Field House and “start driving around the track.”

The teenager eventually drove off the track. Police moments later stopped him at Central Loop and the main entrance to campus. He admitted to drinking alcohol earlier that night, according to court documents.

When he got out of the Jeep, police found an opened can of beer in one of his pockets. He was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. A blood test at Butler Memorial Hospital showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.15 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

Kouns is charged with driving under the influence, trespass by vehicle and underage drinking.

Oct. 3 — Madelene R. McConnell, 21, of Slippery Rock was charged in a case of suspected theft and debit card fraud earlier this year.

McConnell is accused of taking another woman’s PNC debit card from the victim’s backpack that was in an unlocked locker April 19 at the Aebersold Recreation Center, court documents said.

The defendant allegedly used the card to make an unauthorized purchase totaling $105.98. She is charged with misdemeanor counts of theft and access device fraud.

[naviga:h3]Butler County Sheriff[/naviga:h3]

Friday—Thomas D. Essary, 30, of Saxonburg was charged with charged with submitting a concealed carry license application Aug. 21 that included answers about his criminal record that were not truthful and were rejected by the Pennsylvania Instant Check System that is run by the state police.

Essary is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.

[naviga:h3]Butler County Drug Task Force[/naviga:h3]

Friday — Bobbi Jo Noble, 31, was charged with child endangerment in connection with a search last month at her home in the 300 block of West New Castle Street that ended in the arrest of her live-in boyfriend.

Butler County Task Force officers found a box of suspected drug paraphernalia about 8:45 p.m. Sept. 28 after serving a search warrant at the couple’s home where they live with their 6-month-old daughter, court documents said.

Among the seized contraband, officers said, were used syringes and empty heroin bags in a bedroom where they found the girl. The drug materials were mixed in with children’s clothing in the top dresser drawer.

Noble’s boyfriend, Micah J. Christy, 31, was arrested that night on felony and other charges, including child endangerment, stemming from both the search and the drug investigation that led to the search warrant. He remains in the Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]

Friday — Kyler H. Griffith, 23, of Slippery Rock was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop last month in Butler. Police said they stopped his car about 4:05 a.m. Sept. 20 on South Chestnut Street for a window tint violation.

Griffith, who admitted to having recently smoked marijuana, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test after he failed field sobriety testing, according to court documents. Toxicology results confirmed he had marijuana in his system.

He is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving without a license, driving with improper sunscreening, careless driving and failing to notify authorities of a change of address.
