SV golfers break record

Team cards 176 vs. North Hills

It was something the members of the Seneca Valley boys golf team have been shooting for all season.

The team scoring record.

The Raiders finally got it Monday afternoon at Cranberry Highlands.

Zach Brown shot a 3-under-par 32 and Seneca Valley as a team was just 1-over in a 176-217 win over North Hills.

“They were obviously all pretty excited to say the least,” said Seneca Valley coach Steve Mayes.

Mark McNulty was also under par with a 34 for the Raiders.

The previous record of 179 was set in 2007 and tied earlier this season.

“We threw out a 38, so ...,” Mayes said. “They've had this in their minds all year. They're all capable of shooting par or better.”
