12:05 a.m. Saturday — A 17-year-old boy suffered an apparent drug overdose at a home in the 200 block of East Walnut Street.

Authorities said they were called to the home for a report of a teenager unconscious and not breathing. Emergency crews administered a dose of Narcan, an antidote for opiate drug overdoses, which revived the boy, according to the Butler Fire Department.

Butler Ambulance Service assisted police and firefighters. The boy, who does not live at the house, was taken by ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital. His condition was not known this morning. A police report was not immediately available.

June 2 — A fight in the 300 block of Federal Street ended in mutual charges against both combatants.

A neighbor called 911 to report people fighting in the street. When officers got there, according to court documents, they found Brian P. O’Donnell, 33, and Daniel Martin, 38, both of Butler standing face to face in the middle of the road.

O’Donnell tried to walk away but was stopped, police said. Both men showed “visible signs of being in a fight,” according to a police affidavit. Among the signs was redness to their hands and faces, profuse sweating and stretched or torn clothing.

Police said it appeared that O’Donnell’s right arm was broken or dislocated at the elbow. Officers sent Martin home and escorted O’Donnell back to his house a block away to await a Butler Ambulance Service crew. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Both men are charged with disorderly conduct.

Tuesday — Crystal D. Hershey, 36, of Prospect was arrested for drunken driving stemming from a traffic stop last month at Greenwood Drive and Route 422 in Butler Township. Police said they pulled her over about 2:35 a.m. May 27 for not using her turn signals.

Hershey smelled of alcohol and appeared impaired, according to court documents. She admitted having two alcohol drinks before driving.

She later tested positive for alcohol on a portable breath test device and failed field sobriety tests. A breath test subsequently showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.09 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

In addition to driving under the influence, Hershey is charged with careless driving and failing to use turn signals.

Tuesday — Eli B. Houston, 32, of Butler Township was charged with having marijuana in connection with a 2015 traffic stop for speeding in Butler Township.

Police said they clocked Houston’s motorcycle traveling 92 mph in a 55 mph zone on Route 422 west near the Duffy Road overpass on Route 422 about 9:15 p.m. July 8, 2015. A pat-down search of him yielded a baggie of marijuana, court documents said.

He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, speeding and careless driving. Documents did not indicate why it took so long for police to file charges in the case.

Tuesday — Police charged an Armstrong County woman with DUI in connection with a traffic stop last month in Butler Township. Jessica R. Loughrey, 36, of Kittanning was stopped about 2:45 a.m. May 26 after troopers saw her car cross the double yellow lines on Greenwood Drive near Benbrook Road.

Loughrey, who smelled of alcohol and showed signs of intoxication, was arrested after failing field sobriety tests, court documents said. A breath test showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.115 percent.

Tuesday — A Mercer County woman was charged with having drug contraband stemming from a nearly two-year-old traffic stop in Butler Township.

The suspect, Bridget L. Metheney, 23, of Grove City, was stopped July 14, 2015, on New Castle Road for driving a car with a suspended registration. She told police the car belonged to her boyfriend.

Police said they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle and later searched it. The search turned up a marijuana pipe, according to court documents.

Metheney is charged with a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Charging documents did not indicate why it took police so long to charge her.
