SRU track sending 6 to nationals

The Slippery Rock University track and field team will send six to the NCAA Division II National Championships, which will be held May 25-27 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.

Butler graduate Kennedy Evans will compete in both the 100-meter and 400-meter hurdles.

Evans has put together a stellar season and will be making her first appearance at the national meet in her final season of eligibility.

Evans is ranked 11th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 59.80 seconds. She's the 22nd seed in the 100 hurdles with a time of 13.86.

Slippery Rock High graduate Ryan Thompson will also represent SRU at nationals.

Thompson will also make his first appearance at the national meet in his final year of eligibility. He is ranked 12th in the 1,500-meter run with a school record time of 3:46.34.

Courtney McQuaide (pole vault), Madeline Marshall (pole vault), Dave Reinhardt (javelin, hammer) and Jordan Pacheco (pole vault) will also compete for The Rock.
