10:30 p.m. Tuesday — Macklin C. Haye, 24, of Fairview Township was arrested for driving under the influence after police stopped his car at West New Castle and Seventh Avenue for having illegally tinted windows.

Police said Haye reeked of alcohol and he appeared impaired, according to court documents. He failed field sobriety tests and was taken for a breath test, which showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.114 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

In their criminal complaint, police noted that Haye has two prior DUI convictions, in 2010 and 2015.

He is charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license DUI-related and driving with unsafe equipment.

Wednesday — Andrea M. Lightner, 40, of Butler was charged with drugged driving stemming from three separate crashes within 10 minutes last month.

Police said the series of wrecks on New Castle Road began about 5:15 p.m. March 20 when Lightner’s car struck an unoccupied vehicle at the PNC Bank parking lot. She did not stop.

Just minutes later, according to a police report, her car struck an occupied car. The other driver was not hurt.

The defendant again drove away but a short time later her car hit a curb at the Butler Commons shopping plaza, rendering it with a flat tire.

Police subsequently arrested Lightner and took her to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test. Toxicology reports showed she had several different prescription medications in her system, police said.

She is charged with driving under the influence, two counts each of hit-and-run and failing to stop and give information or render aid after an accident, making an improper right turn, disregarding traffic lanes and reckless driving.

3:35 a.m. April 19 — Anthony M. Puglisi, 26, of Butler was found with suspected drug contraband after police were called to his room at the Days Inn on Route 8. Police also found a woman there who had minor injuries.

Police charged Puglisi with harassment and possession of drug paraphernalia.

3:33 p.m. April 13 — Police caught Rachel E. Ross, 24, of Butler with suspected drugs at an Alameda Plaza business where they were called for an intoxicated woman.

Police found Ross at Planet Fitness. They also learned that she was wanted on an arrest warrant stemming from a 2015 drug case in Neshannock Township, Lawrence County.

While she was being arrested, according to a police report, she caused a “large disturbance.”

Ross is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

She was placed in Butler County Prison on the warrant before being turned over to Lawrence County authorities.

12:47 p.m. April 13 — The smell of marijuana coming from her Lyndora home landed 28-year-old Chelsea L. Marburger in trouble with the law.

Police said they caught a whiff of marijuana from the home while responding to a harassment complaint. They subsequently found her with marijuana and other contraband, according to a police report.

She is charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

8:01 p.m. Monday — Anthony J. Ouly, 19, of Grove City was arrested after police found him with suspected marijuana and other contraband near the intersection of North Center and Erie streets.

He faces charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

10:20 a.m. Monday — A small, black duffel bag containing a computer tablet and several movies was reported stolen from a wagon on the sidewalk on the 100 block of South Center Street. The stolen property is valued at $350.

April 10 — John R. Eckert Jr., 37, of Butler was charged with misdemeanor drug possession in connection with a traffic stop last month for speeding on Route 8 at Denny Road.

During the stop, court documents said, the officer did a pat-down search of the defendant and turned up a cigarette pack that contained 29 stamp bags and three empty bags of suspected heroin.

“Eckert admitted that he has a problem with heroin,” a police affidavit said.

Additionally, inside the pack was a plastic straw with suspected drug residue. In the defendant’s wallet, police said, was a Suboxone strip for which he did not have a prescription.

He is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and speeding.

2:44 p.m. Wednesday — Eric L. Barlow Jr., 26, of West Mifflin, Allegheny County, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Pillow Street in Butler.

Barlow is charged with DUI, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license and careless driving.

April 18 — Jeffery J. Rivers, 28, of Lyndora was charged with drugged driving stemming from a one-vehicle crash last month in Center Township. He lost control of his car about 1 a.m. March 30 on Benbrook Road just west of Lions Road, police said, and hit a guardrail and embankment.

Troopers said Rivers was seated on the grass next to his car when they got there. He showed signs of being impaired, according to court documents, and admitted to having taken Suboxone and cocaine before driving that night.

The defendant was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test, which confirmed the presence of Suboxone and cocaine in his system, documents said,

Rivers is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving at an unsafe speed, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and not wearing a seat belt.

April 17 — Police charged Jacob C. Seybert, 21, of Slippery Rock Township with having marijuana and other drug contraband following a traffic stop earlier this month in Center Township.

Troopers pulled over Seybert about 8:40 p.m. April 1 for having a faulty headlight on his sport utility vehicle on the 2300 block of Route 8. Police noted that one of the brake lights also was not working.

When police got to the vehicle, according to court documents, they smelled a “strong odor” of alcohol coming from inside the SUV. Seybert turned over to police a baggie of suspected marijuana that was under the front seat.

He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, two lighting violations, failing to carry his vehicle registration and not wearing a seat belt.

2:31 a.m. April 14 — Malone A. Birckbichler, 23, of Washington Township was arrested for driving under the influence on the 600 block of Davis Road in Clay Township after a pair of traffic violations.

Police said they smelled a “strong odor” of alcohol coming from Birckbichler, who also had bloodshot and watery eyes. He was taken for a breath test after failing field sobriety tests.

The breath test showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.148 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.

In addition to DUI, Birckbichler is charged with disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and failing to use low beams.

Wednesday — A Pittsburgh teenager was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic stop April 1 on Interstate 79 in Plain Grove Township.

In addition to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, Dylan Reed Lion, 18, is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and three traffic violations.
