Joseph L. Newcaster II

Joseph L. Newcaster II, 74, of Butler passed away Thursday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Aug. 14, 1942, in Butler, he was a son of the late Joseph L. and Mary Sandloop Newcaster.

Joe was a 1960 graduate of Butler High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served in communications from 1960 to 1964.

Joe retired from AK Steel in 2001 where he worked in the technical services department following 37 years of service.

Joe was a member of St. John Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora and the Meridian Vets Club. He also enjoyed watching old westerns on TV.

Joe's family was his life.

Surviving is his wife, Patricia Uram Newcaster, who he married May 2, 1964; his daughter and son, Stacy and Stephen Newcaster, both of Butler; his brother, Edward Newcaster, of Butler; two nieces; and his cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

NEWCASTER — There will be no public visitation for Joseph L. Newcaster II, who died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017.
