Arnold “Arnie” Trufley, 73, of Boyers passed away at his home the evening of Sunday, May 5, 2024.

Born on Nov. 5, 1950, in Butler, he was the son of the late Joseph W. Trufley and late Mildred “Irene” (Schlagel) Trufley.

Arnie was a graduate of the 1969 Slippery Rock Area High School class. He retired after over 30 years from Portersville Valve Co. as a welder. He enjoyed playing baseball into his early 40s and was the head baseball coach for Moniteau High School for eight years. He was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and loved to watch his grandsons’ sports games.

Arnie is survived by his wife of 47 years, Carol (Campbell) Trufley, whom he married on Nov. 20, 1976; one daughter, Brooke Osterwise of Grove City; one son, Travis (Mindy) Trufley of Clark, Pa.; and three grandsons, Logan Osterwise and Tyson and Kolten Trufley. He is also survived by four sisters, Debra Germani of New Castle, Cyndi (Dan) Swidzinski of West Sunbury, Elaine Trufley of Slippery Rock and Lisa Trufley of Slippery Rock; a sister-in-law, Kelly R. Smith of Slippery Rock; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert P. Trufley; a brother-in-law, Joe Germani; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Raymond and Sylvia Campbell.

TRUFLEY — Family and friends of Arnold “Arnie” Trufley, who died Sunday, May 5, 2024, will be received for visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. A Catholic blessing service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Adam Verona, of St. Faustina Parish, officiating.

Burial to follow in Epiphany Cemetery, Boyers.
