MIDLAND, Beaver County — When “Elf the Musical Jr.” opens today at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center, Emily Beaver of Mars and Tessa DeJeet of Cranberry Township will be featured.

Emily, an eighth-grader, plays Elf, and Tessa, a ninth-grader, portrays Emily Hobbs.

Performances begin at 7:30 p.m. today through Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday.

“Elf the Musical Jr.” is the tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag and is transported to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy's enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth.
