D. Deborah Johnston

D. Deborah Johnston, 86, of Cabot passed away Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born June 5, 1929, in Saxonburg, she was the daughter of the late John Louis Johnston and Dorothy Davis Johnston.

Deb was a graduate of Winfield Clinton School.

She retired after 43 years from Moonlight Mushroom, where she was a picker then a crew boss.

Deb was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Light of Zion class and assisted with the funeral dinners. She was also a volunteer with Freeport Meals on Wheels and a member of the Cabot A&R. She organized class reunions for the Winfield Clinton School. Deb enjoyed bowling, gardening, bingo and traveling.

Surviving are her sister, Eleanor Puz of Saxonburg; four nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and great-nephews; and two great-great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Richard Johnston; her infant brother, Howard Wayne Johnston; her sister, Charlotte Johnston; and one great-niece.

JOHNSTON — Friends of D. Deborah Johnston, who died Tuesday, May 24, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert H. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
