Mary H. Johnson

Johnson

Mary H. Johnson, 69, of Cranberry Township, sadly passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024.

Born Aug. 22, 1954, in Concord, Mass., she was the daughter of the late David Warren Scribner and Mildred L. (Hurley) Scribner.

Mary treated everyone she met like family and was affectionately known as “Grammie.” She worked for many years as a project manager for NOVA Chemicals and Bayer. She was also a strong advocate for ALS, winning the “Advocate of the Year” award in 2016.

Mary loved people and enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends. She was an avid reader and movie watcher. She loved traveling, especially to her favorite place, Plum Island in Massachusetts. Mary will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 35 years, Jeremiah H. Johnson; her children, Nicole Battle (Jarrett Tebbets) and LaKeisha Battle (Devin Kirkland); and her beloved grandchildren, Nehemiah, Anthony, Zariah and D.J.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, David Scribner; her niece, Shannon Scribner; and her cousin, Laurie Pacy, whom she loved like a sister.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff on the 5th and 6th floor of UPMC Passavant McCandless for lovingly taking care of Mary over the last few months.
