Josh Beale scored on a two-out single by Derek Jones in the top of the eighth inning as Freeport beat Hampton 5-3 to clinch a WPIAL Class AAA playoff spot.
Freeport tacked on an unearned run in the frame and J.J. Brestensky worked a scoreless bottom of the eighth for the save.
Nate Pastorek picked up the win on the mound for the Yellowjackets (12-6, 7-5), who finished in a third-place tie in the section with the Talbots.

Softball
Kennedy DeMatteis tossed her third no-hitter of the season and Moniteau softball coach Dan Beebe won his 100th game as the Warriors rolled to a 10-0 win in five innings over Redbank Valley.
DeMatteis, who also doubled and drove in two runs, struck out seven and walked two in the no-hitter.
Gabby Stewart and Alyssa Dailey each had three singles and drove in two runs for Moniteau (15-1, 6-0), which also clinched the KSAC South title for the third consecutive season.
Beebe is 100-19 in his career with the Warriors.
