James H. Goehring

James H. Goehring, 90, of Renfrew, formerly of Evans City, went to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday morning in Shelbourne Personal Care, Butler.

Born Oct. 17, 1925, in Evans City, he was the son of the late Walter and Grace Ramsey Goehring.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in Germany, where he met his wife of 63 years. He proudly served his country.

Jim was an active member of First Baptist Church of Evans City, where he served in many ministries especially enjoying children's church and AWANA Club.

He was employed by Adams Steel Erection as an iron worker and survived a five-story fall in 1965.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Genowefa Daszkiewicz Goehring Dec. 17, 2009; his grandson, Jeffrey Hixon; and two sisters, Jean Herr and Iva Konrad.

Jim is survived by three daughters, Wanda (Wayne) Hixon of Penn Township, Sandra Eisenhuth of Warren, Ohio, and Barbara (James) Engemann of Tampa, Fla.; two sons, Garry Goehring of Tampa, Fla., and Jerry (Susan) Goehring of Clearwater, Fla.; one sister, Eileen Bernd of Zelienople; one brother, Paul Goehring of Alamo, Texas; 13 grandchildren, James and Andrew Hixon, Ann Ayissi Essomo, Jodi, Joshua and Michael Tyron, Joseph and David Eisenhuth, Julie O'Malley, Jami Hanson, Heidi Yoder, Matthew and Chad Goehring; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

GOEHRING — A private graveside service for James H. Goehring, who died Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, was today at Brownsdale Cemetery.The family will welcome relatives and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, 306 S. Washington St., Evans City. A memorial service will follow.Arrangements are under the direction of A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W.
