6:20 p.m. Sunday — Two people were injured when a motorcycle driven by Woody P. Straub, 57, of Pittsburgh crashed in the 700-block of Center Avenue.

Straub told police he was going around a bend in the road when he believes his kickstand fell down, preventing him from leaning the bike.

The motorcycle hit a curb, a utility pole and a pile of bricks, sending the bike and its two occupants airborne before they crashed onto the stairs of a house.

The passenger on the motorcycle, Wendy Fredrick, 46, of Pittsburgh, suffered major injuries. She was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital. Straub, who suffered minor injuries, also was taken to the hospital.

4:15 p.m. Sunday — A Butler man was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest and criminal mischief after he swung a coat rack “like a baseball bat” at city officers inside the Donut Connection on Center Avenue.

Police had responded to the doughnut shop on reports that Michael Ehrman, 53, was causing a disturbance. When they arrived, Ehrman began swinging the wooden coat rack at officers. He was ordered to drop the rack but did not.

Officers tazed Ehrman and placed him under arrest. He was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a mental health evaluation.

9:40 a.m. Sunday — Tanya L. Tyson, 24, of Butler was arrested on a warrant after she was found passed out near Butler Memorial Hospital. Police said Tyson initially fled after paramedics told her police were on their way. State police later notified city officers that Tyson was seen on the railroad tracks near Transflo.

4:20 a.m. Thursday — Valerie Delk, 19, of Sarver was cited for retail theft and disorderly conduct after she allegedly stole $15 worth of canned air dusters from Walmart in Butler Commons. Delk was found unconscious on the restroom floor and was treated at the scene by Butler Ambulance Service.

Thursday — An unknown suspect sent explicit content to a 10-year-old boy from Center Township via the online gaming website Animal Jam.

Police said the content was sent through the site's chat.

Wednesday — The state police fire marshal is investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a garage and two vehicles at a home along Oneida Valley Road in Washington Township.

The damage from the fire is estimated at $21,500. The owner of the property is Jeffrey Donaldson, 35.

3 p.m. May 24 — Someone stole a bag of tools valued at $60 from a boat owned by a Butler man. The boat was along Millcreek Road in Highland Township, Clarion County, at the time of the theft.
