Esther Mae Brown, 88, of Butler passed away at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday at the Butler VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Esther was born April 6, 1927, in Clay Township. She was the daughter of the late Ford L. McCall and the late Anna Mirda McCall.

Esther was a homemaker. She was a member of the Muddycreek Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Cross and Crown. She was an avid swimmer and gardener. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Esther is survived by two daughters, Judy (Bill) Foringer of Butler and Jane (Tony) Leo of Harmony; four grandchildren, Desmond (Tange) Foringer, Shawn (Cindy) Foringer, Steven (Megan) Leo and Michael (fiance, Elana Evans) Leo; five great-granddaughters, Makayla, Serenity, Madilynn, Samantha and Elizabeth; one brother, Francis “Bucky” (Donna) McCall; one sister-in-law, Sylvia Webb; one brother-in-law, Boyd (Charlotte) Brown; and several cherished nieces and nephews.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph J. Brown, who died Jan. 16, 2011; one sister, Mary McCandless; and two brothers, infant Paul McCall and Robert McCall.

BROWN — The family of Esther Mae Brown, who died Tuesday, July 28, 2015, will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the William F. Young Funeral Home, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Additional visitation will be from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Muddycreek Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Matt Kail, her pastor, officiating.
