Joseph Kellner, 91, of Marion Township, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

Joe was born in Donau, Germany, on March 18, 1933, and immigrated to America in April 1952. He was the son of Michael and Theresia Seidl Kellner. He was married for 52 years to Alice Boswell Kellner, who passed away in 2021.

Joe served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958 in France. He was employed for many years at Babcock & Wilcox Tubular Products and worked in the Beaver Falls, Koppel and Ambridge locations. He also worked at the family farm, Kraus’ HyVue Farm. He worked at UPS in Rochester for plaza maintenance and for Marion Township on the road crew, recycling crew and food distribution team for many years. He was Roman Catholic and had attended St. Mary and St. Philomena in Beaver Falls and St. Gregory in Zelienople.

Joe is survived by his three children, Amy Kellner of Marion Township, Todd (Amy) Kellner of North Sewickley and Tim (Stephanie) Kellner of Mt. Lebanon; and his beloved grandchildren, Catie Kellner, Joey Kellner and Olivia Kellner. He also is survived by his brother, Ron Kraus; sisters, Bonnie Murtha and Marilyn Zona; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Mae Boswell; and sister-in-law, Gertrude Kellner.

Survivors also include his godson and nephew, RJ Kraus; and nieces and nephews, Michael Kellner, Elisabeth Bolanz, Max Kugler, Mike Boswell, Beth Dravenstott, Bill Boswell, Mark Garen, Jeniffer Jacobs, Brenda Phelps, Becky Lewis, Derek Zona and Valerie Hardy.

Joe was preceded in death by his wife; and siblings, Michael Kellner and Edeltraud Kugler.

The family would like to thank UPMC Hospice for their care during his last week.

KELLNER — Friends and family of Joseph Kellner, who died Saturday, April 27, 2024, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, 273 Route 68, Rochester, Pa. A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Joe will be laid to rest at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park in Rochester, Pa.
