The city streets department next week will begin to vacuum leaves on residential streets.

Crews will start on Institute Hill on Monday and move toward the South Hills area of the city, according to Tom Shuler, foreman of the department.

Residents should rake or blow leaves to the curb, but not in the street.

Residents also can dispose of leaves at a designated area in Memorial Park.

The leaf dump at the park is open from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends.
