Michelle W. Baehr
Michelle W. Baehr, 52, of Mars died Wednesday morning at her home.
Born in Fingle, N.D., June 20, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Grace Olsen Wolsky.
A graduate of Moorehead State University in Minnesota, she earned a master's degree at Duquesne University. She was a third-grade teacher at Summit Elementary School in the Butler School District. She also had taught at the St. Rosalia and the St. Alphonsus schools for eight years and was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association.
She was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars and was active in the choir and the English handbell choir. She also had taught CCD at St. Kilian and St. Ferdinand churches in Cranberry Township and had been a Eucharistic minister at UPMC nursing homes.
Mrs. Baehr had been secretary/treasurer of the Volleyball Boosters Club, treasurer of Neighborhood Council and was a Girl Scout leader in Mars. She enjoyed playing the piano and cello and drawing and craftwork. She especially enjoyed teaching all children, and of utmost importance to her was her family.
Surviving are her husband, Frederick J. "Fritz" Baehr, whom she married Nov. 29, 1975; two daughters, Angela R. Baehr and her husband, Aaron Catchen, of Franklin Park and Sarah G. Baehr at home; a son, Jacob F. Baehr at home; a grandson, Wyatt Catchen; two brothers, James Wolsky and his wife, Carla, of Harwood, N.D., and Jon Wolsky and his wife, Debbie, of Jamestown, N.Y.; nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
<B>BAEHR </B>— Friends of Michelle W. Baehr, who died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church, Mars, with the Rev. Charles Bober officiating.
