IN BRIEF

HARMONY — Borough council Tuesday night selected Greg Such to be its new president.

Such, a council member for the past year and its previous vice president, replaces Jim Hulings, who resigned from council in October.

Don Sims was selected as vice president.

“It's an honor to do it, and I look forward to doing it,” Such said about his new role.

Such said he wants to continue to foster cooperation between council and other community organizations, something he said Hulings did well.

“This whole community runs on volunteers working together so that's prime thing we have to strive to continue,” he said.

Such served on the borough parks board for four years before joining council in late 2013. He works at Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute.
